I either don't have your email or you need to add me to your address book and/or a safe recipient list.

I was having trouble especially with AOL accounts going into Cyber Space. I bought a new program that seems to work much better.

Please contact me if you are not recieving my emails.

The last email I sent was on December 2, 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Wow only 6 months 23 days to go !!!!!!!!!!!!

RSVP’s --- a partial list is now on our web site. This does NOT included over 2000 with just mailing addresses not notified yet.

Hope everyone had wonderful holidays .

Lots of planning and organizing still to be done. I will be concentrating on mailing the reunion information and registration forms to only those with no email address (about 2000 classmates). You can donate the items or money for me to purchase postage stamps still needed (approx $200 left needed). Thank you for all the donations I have been receiving for the mailings. Scott Cordero donated the envelopes and flyers. I also have received cash donations and bought postage stamps.

Hardships: Thank you for the donations so far for 9 classmates may now attend the reunion (2 of them received help with airfare also!). I have 4 more needing a reunion ticket and 2 more needing airfare. If you have any frequent flyer miles or want to buy the airfare they are in Alaska and Texas. Please contact me ASAP so we can get these 6 more classmates to the reunion.

Recipes: Don’t forget to send me your favorite recipe or two. I have only received a couple of them and need a lot more for Ina Wiser Class of ’69 to make a good CD of classmates recipes.

DOOR PRIZES: We are going to do door prizes. I have a few classmates already donating prizes. The more door prizes the better. They will be for the Saturday night banquet. If you have a business or local merchant that would like to donate a prize, let me know what it is. You may bring it the night of the reunion or mail it to me, and I will take it. Be sure to put a business card or your name and class year on the prize so we can thank you.

Songs: Many want to do a song at the reunion. So this is an idea so far. One song should be our Alma Mater. Other songs: Send me the lyrics and I will put them on the sheet to pass out with the Alma Mater. Prefer something most would remember the tune but relate to being in high school also. I have had a couple of suggestions so far. (Scarlet Ribbons, Strangers in the night and others.) It would be fun if we could get someone to write a song about classmates and reunions to a tune we know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Happy Holidays,

2011 Mega Reunion Weekend of July 30, 2011 --- 7 months, 28 days to go !!

Hope everyone had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Recipes wanted: Class of 68 Ina Wiser would like to make a CD of recipes from classmates and sell them to raise money for the reunion. She will sell the CD for $15 (includes postage) with $10 going to the reunion expenses. Please send your family favorite recipe to me and I will get it to Ina.

Sunday Reunion Activities: So far a morning walk/jog, a tennis match or a game of golf.

It is suggest that we possibly have a golf tournament or just go play some golf. This would involve an additional fee besides the reunion ticket. Let me know if you want to golf and about what you would want to pay. It can run from $20 to $80 per golfer, depending on the golf course. One in Svale (cheapest) and one in Santa Clara. Not finanized yet. Just taking a count so let me know.

The registration form has a place to check which, if any, of the 3 Sunday reunion activities you would like to do. You must have a reunion ticket to participate in any of the activities.

Peterson High Singers: It is suggested that we get one or two songs from high school that all the choir and glee club and other singers would like to sing as group at the reunion. What do you think? I could ask Mr.P what songs were through all the class years.

Donations: Here is what else is needed:

1. I have almost 2000 mailing addresses that don’t have email. I need to mail the registration forms to those classmates. I need 2000 envelopes, 4000 sheets of printer paper, black, red and yellow hp#02 ink printer cartridges, 2000 postage stamps, and 4000 address labels for return address and mailing labels (about $1100 to buy all of these items). This is not included in the reunion ticket prices so donations will be needed to cover this. I have approx $250 so far towards these needs. If you order Staples online they will ship it to my house for free with $50 or more orders. If you own a print shop, maybe you will donate envelops with return address or print the flyers for me as a donation or super cheap price (a penny a page)

2. Donations for about 14 more classmatesto attend the reunion that cannot afford it. Three of which need airfare also. If you have any frequent flyer miles to donate, contact me so we can set it up. One is in Florida, one is in Texas and one is in Colorado.

Hope you have a wonderful Holiday season. I will email again around the end of January.

Sincerely,

Carol Greener

Dear Classmates,

It took me a couple of weeks but I just finished emailing one at a time 2095 emails with the attached reunion registration form. If you did not receive it, look for it in your junk or spam box. There is also a link on our web site to print out the form.

OCTOBER 27, 2010:

Dear Classmates,

2011 Mega Reunion Weekend of July 30, 2011 --- Only 9 months to go !!

Gosh Holiday Season coming up, so Happy Holidays.

SUNDAY EVENTS: You must purchase a reunion ticket to enter any of the weekend events.
If you want to be in an event or coordinate an event, contact me: My email is: info@petersonhigh.com

Events for the Reunion Sunday: If someone would like to organize other various events, golf, soccer, etc. let me know, so we can get sign ups going.

Registration Prices: Because I put the money in a savings account the price is only $90 per adult. On May 1 st the price will be $95 per adult and July 1 st $100 per adult. I will be paying out the rest of the deposits, rentals and insurance approximately in March and April. So the money is needed early to get tables and chairs rentals, canopy rental, school use fees, insurance, hall deposit, caterer deposits etc. There are many expenses that go into the reunion. Your help with early registration will be most appreciated.

I will be emailing you the registration form with the attachment later this week. It is also on our web site www.petersonhigh.com

If you would like to make monthly payments, register now with a minimum $10 per month (pay in full by July 10 th) to keep the $90 price per adult.

WEB SITES:

Of course our site is the best www.petersonhigh.com !!!!
However, here are some reviews on other sites classmates are using:

Classmates.com I find that classmates.com is very slow and difficult to work with. I also get only about a one percent success rate in emailing from that sight. So if you are thinking of joining that site, save the money and don’t do it. THUMBS DOWN

FaceBook.com is working terrific for me. This site is fast and finding lots of missing classmates on there. Easy to email and add friends. This is a good one to join. My face book account is www.facebook.com/petersonhigh. There are several Peterson High groups set up on face book. You can join one or all of them or none of them. It is up to you.

There are someRSVP’s on my Facebook event page. There are many more going but they haven’t done a Facebook RSVP or they are not on Facebook. We are expecting about 1000 to 2000 attending. I get more RSVP’s every day. THUMBS UP

My Space.com is another site getting antiquated for me. More difficult to find missing classmates, but the speed is okay. I find it difficult to change my email address and it still has my old one, so I don’t know when anyone emails me from there. I also forget to check it but once every 2-3 months.

Other reunion sites: There are several other reunion sites that are popular and I don’t use them anymore. They didn’t have much to offer or it got too costly.

So bottom line is preferably the petersonhigh.com and facebook.com web sites are the ones to be on.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2010:

Dear Classmates,

2011 Mega Reunion Weekend of July 30, 2011 --- 10 months to go !!

Thank you to those who have already bought their reunion tickets.

DOOR PRIZES:
I am thinking of doing door prizes at the Saturday evening event. If you have something that you would like to donate as a door prize, please let me know ASAP what it is. If I get a good list of many door prizes, then we will do it. If I get only a few, I will probably not do door prizes. If there is money left over after paying reunion expenses there will be some cash prizes. (2001 we had about $2000 cash given in door prizes)

Door prizes have to be something that even those traveling from the east coast could take home with them. A gift certificate for a dinner for two at a local restaurant would NOT be appropriate.

If you live in the area, maybe ask a favorite store for a bottle of wine, or cool door prize to donate. If you own a business, maybe you can donate something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HARDSHIPS:
Some classmates may not be able to attend the reunion due to financial hardships with the way the economy is today. So if you want to donated specifically for a classmate (who is to remain anonymous so no embarrassment) please let me know. I have only a couple of classmates so far mentioned they can only attend if the reunion ticket is free, they live in the area. Sometimes you can give a classmate your air miles, or send me the money and state that it is specifically for hardships.

If you are in need of hotel, air fare or reunion ticket in order to attend, please let me know. It will only depend on donations specified for those in need if any will be given.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Reunion Ticket Registration information is on our web site
www.petersonhigh.com

I do take monthly payments of $10 or more per month. So if you would like to do a payment plan just fill out the registration in full with full price showing and send in the partial payment. I will remind you once a month to send more until paid in full by June 2011.

The price is $90 per adult (both Saturday events included with lunch and dinner) and there will be some Sunday events to sign up for also. The price is only $15 more than the reunion in 2001. That isn’t too bad compared to the inflation of prices now. More on the Sunday events in next month’s newsletter. The day events do allow families with special pricing for the kids. The Saturday evening event you must be 21 years old or older.

Please register early. Many reunion expenses are paid even before April, insurance, deposits, name tags (I type every one of them, so I would like to have you register now), and other supplies to have a great reunion.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone,

AUGUST 13, 2010 Email

Dear Classmates,

Peterson High Mega Reunion July 30 th only 11 months and 17 days away !!

Some deposits have been paid at the Convention Center, Florist and Caterer for BBQ day event.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The August Committee Meeting Report:

Saturday August 7 th several class years were represented at the Raynor Park picnic. I posted a few pictures on the web site album section. We had a good time.

We decided on the day event details: catered light lunch, rent canopy for shade, tables and chairs.

The day event at Peterson High: We decided to have a simple hamburger, hot dog or vege burger at the day event vs bringing your own. But you are most welcome to bring your own food too if one hamburger (hot dog or vege burger) is not enough. One soda or water is included in the meal, so you may want to bring more drinks (NOT ALCOHOL AT SCHOOL). We will be supplying a 40 x 140 tent at the high school but that may not fit everyone under the shade so local classmates are more than welcome to bring ez-ups also. Some tables and chairs will be available depending on number of ticket sales, but again if you live locally you may bring beach chairs, blankets or whatever to sit on.
This will be casual dress.

The Evening event at the Santa Clara Convention Center: We will be having a Buffet dinner with a DJ and dance floor. The dress code has not been decided yet. See notes under website changes.

Committees set up are Decorations for School, Registration tables for school and convention center and meal ticket collectors at the school. If you would like to help, let me know which committee you want to be on.

Ticket prices were also discussed. The price is only $15 more than 10 years ago, so not too bad considering the inflation of prices.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hotel information and Reunion Ticket registration instructions are now on our web site.
Reunion tickets are on sale. There will be no tickets sold at the door. Tickets must be purchased by July 10, 2011.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Costs that I pay from donations (not included in ticket sales): Paper, envelopes, card stock, postage stamps, printer ink, people finder monthly fees, long distance phone call fees, and the web site hosting annual fee needs renewing soon. The domain name has been renewed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WEB SITE CHANGES:

I reset the poll few weeks ago for what to wear to the Saturday Night Banquet: Casual, Semi-Formal or a new category: Dressy Casual (description on the web site). Please be sure to vote if you haven’t yet.

Also I have been learning web site programming codes. I have made a lot of changes. Be sure to click on the “Must See Pages” section of our web site www.petersonhigh.com This is where you will find hotel and reunion ticket information.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading my long email. If you have any alumni news to tell everyone, let me know and I may include it in next month’s newsletter.

Looking forward to hearing from many of you.
